Instrument Keyboards

Many instruments rely on keyboards to produce their sounds. The most famous keyboard instrument is probably the piano, a member of the string family. When a key on the piano keyboard is pressed, it releases a padded hammer that strikes a taught wire. This causes the wire to vibrate at a certain frequency, thereby creating the desired note. Other keyboard instruments work in different ways. Organ keyboards stimulate the release of air into corresponding pipes. The keyboard on an accordion controls the air released. In general, keyboards are relatively easy to learn and can create a wide range of notes.
