About Music

For many in the music industry, the Fender guitar is the epitome of quality and innovative design. The Fender Musical Instrument Corporation has been producing quality instruments since Leo Fender started the company in 1940s. Fender guitars are favored by many musicians and, recently, Fender has developed a signature line of guitars to honor legendary guitar players like Eric Clapton, Dick Dale, Jeff Beck, Robert Cray, Robin Trower, Albert Collins, Danny Gatton, Merle Haggard and Seymour Duncan.

The History of Fender Guitars

Fender Musical Instrument Corporation as we know it today began with the dreams of Leo Fender in the 1940s. An inventor who studied the way that electric guitars were produced, Leo Fender determined that he could make the process much more efficient and effective. Fender's first real innovative design was the Broadcaster, which he introduced in 1951. This Broadcaster, which has been renamed the Telecaster, was the first solid body Spanish-style electric guitar in mass production. As if that were not enough to set Leo Fender apart from the competition, he also introduced the ground-breaking Precision Bass guitar. The Precision Bass guitar allowed bass players, for the first time, to amplify their music. Combined, these two instruments form the foundation for the modern rock sound we know today.
