Electric Guitar Sounds

The Sound of the Electric Guitar

Because of its make and the unique way in which the electric guitar creates its sound, it is unlike any other guitar. Combined with the amplifier, electric guitars give an almost limitless possibility for creating new sounds and combinations.

Most electric guitars are based around the same notes as acoustic guitars, namely six strings set at E-A-D-G-B-E. They can be tuned to other types, and some are available with custom string arrangements (some are even available with more than one neck, or the part where the strings are). Electric guitars are tuned the same way as acoustic guitars, by manipulating tuning pegs at the very top.

The electric guitar is a fun and well-accepted alternative to the acoustic guitar. Its range of sound and the possibilities created by the amp have made it a staple of many types of music in the United States and around the world.
